Chinese women tennis player Wang Qiang beat Barty of Australia, the champ of French Open this year, advancing to semi-quarterfinal of US Open this morning. Wang, a good-looking, healthy girl with suntanned skin at 27, has acquired the best status and ranking of China in professional tennis since Li Na retired

Congratulations, Ms Wang.  Do go further!

FYI, Wang Qiang shares the same pronunciation with that legendary classic beauty 王嬙(王昭君)。

I read the other day a reference for foreigners. It is suggested not to address Chinese by family name only which is not adequate, may even be impolite. To follow the Chinese convention, given name following the family name, would be the most proper.

So, in this case, addressing the pretty athlete "Wang Qiang" instead of "Wang" would be much better.   😊

Thank you for the advice. I have revised my addressing to Wang Qiang as Ms Wang. (You know, I am not got used to call others by their full name directly. In Mandarin, I have always called the first names of my friends, classmates, and colleagues, never their full names.)
