When I was in college, a high school classmate who was majoring Chinese lent me a book of Mr Zhu: 文藝心理學. (But the author was in anonymity then because Mr Zhu remained to stay in Mainland after 1949.) Besides being deeply impressed by his beautifully written prose in choice pharases, for the very first time I got to know the essence of genunine beauty, or the true aestheticism. In the book, Mr Zhu introduces readers a word that I would never forget: CATHARSIS. (Definition: the process of releasing strong feelings, for example through plays or other artistic activities, as a way of providing relief from anger, sufferings, etc.)
