I have never interested myself in watching that kind of stuff: lengthy TV series of "historical" drama concerning intrigue against each other among empress and concubines within palace.  Why not?  A writer gave his felicitous and perspicacious remarks for me at:

Dear "drama chasers", what you are watching has little to do with the real history that you need to know, or need not.  Allow me to say it that you are just wasting your time.  Much worse than that, those costume dramas themselves are nothing but a reflection of the adverse mindset of historical nihilism.
