《假如我是真的》

You might have watched the film if you are old enough.  When I watched the movie in early 80s, I was a little bit startled not only because the story itself shocked me but also because China Mainland would tolerate such a movie which reflected the society pertaining to the era of Cultural Revolution so realistically that vividly captured how did an imposter disguise he was a "princeling", cheating his interests out of the world of a communist country.  When finally being debunked, he uttered out that fomous phrase "假如我是真的呢".   I was not sure whether Mainlanders could watch the movie in theathers then, but at least there had been a original script in the first place.  Attached below is a reportage about the original author of the story, who just passed away couple days ago.

P.S.  The reportage also mentioned another script of the author, "陳毅市長".   Marshal Chen was the first mayor of Shanghai in 1949 after CCP taking over the city.  You know, my father was a KMT officer who was captured in action during the battle of defending Shanghai.  When he was released from POW camp three months later, he decided to take my two brothers to flee to Hong Kong first, leaving my mother and me in Shanghai waiting for another opportunity.  But soon Korean War broke out in 1950, CCP government started to restrain people from moving freely, especially those of KMT background.  My mother, a true bluestocking, sent an elegantly-written letter to Mayor Chen, earnestly requesting Chen to issue a pass, nothing else.  Soon my mother got the personally-signed permit from him.
