Yesterday I told you that people in American residential areas will most likely receive a (warning) ticket from city hall if thier house becomes "a blot on the landscape" like having unattended lawns, broken window facing streets, unlicensed reconstruction, and so on. Does the city hall regularly dispatch patrol cars to watch those "unlawful" residents? Not exactly.
Dont worry, the meddlesome neighbors will do the job of informing against the "offenders" for the city. So from Chinese point of view, be a friendly and pleasant neighbor must be an important thing to do in America. But I admire this way of doing things, the American way.
