In 2012, not long after we retired from work, my wife and I were travelling in France with a tour group.  In addition to the meccas that we must see, the tour guide arranged a half-day shopping at Paris.  So we were led to a famous department store named Lafayette, a shopping paradise that Mainlanders jokingly called it "老佛爺".  In the store there were multitude of tourists(or more precisely: buyers) from China's Mainland, most of them were plainly dressed, definitely not associated with rich buyers at all.  The fact was: every counter in the store had a signboard clearly showing "Welcome to use 銀聯卡".

We intended to take the opportunity to buy a belated wedding present for my daughter, so we proceeded to the boutique of Chanel.  But when we got there, an eye-popping scene popped out.  There were so many customers were line up to get permission of entrance that a long queque emcompassing the shop with at least two circles.  Oh my goodness!  And so we gave it up.

Shopping spree is not the only purpose for travelling abroad.  That will not obtain respects from other countries; if the acts of overnight millionaires are accompanied bad manners against etiquette, local custom, and modern codes of civilization, that will be even worse.  China then will benefit nothing from her strength but despise and even loathing from others.  Please see following report; how I wish it is not true.
