卜算子·詠梅，陸游

驛外斷橋邊，寂寞開無主。已是黃昏獨自愁，更著風和雨。

無意苦爭春，一任群芳妒。零落成泥碾作塵，只有香如故。

Yesterday I boldly ventured into translating Chairman Maos 《卜算子·詠梅》.  Its said Maos verses was out of the inspiration from Lu Yous namesake, as listed above.

Besides his prolific poetry, Lu You is also renowned of being a great patriot in Song Dynasty.  But his patriotism was somewhat oppressed during his days, thus we could find in his work the kind of sentiments with grief and indignation, lamenting how helpless he was in striving for national unification.  Through the use of pathetic fallacy in metaphor, Lu sadly expressed his solitude as being like a lonesome but proud plum blossom. 

However, Maos verses are quite different, which contain optimism in bitter enviornment, aspiration with self-effacement, and altruism regardless of seemingly insignificant itself.  In other words, it is a piece of poem that is trying to convey "positive energy": aggressiveness and initiative.
