A shocking news but not against all expection that hit Taiwan yesterday:  Panama severed its diplomatic relations with ROC, a tie that had established since late Qing Dynasty, and sought formal diplomation relations with China's Mainland.  I guess the news might arouse indignation among some people of Taiwan, especially Taidu advocates.  Don't react that way, isn't it what you've been looking for all the time?

Okay, the relation derived from Qing Dynasty, the fact told the story itself.  Panama always wanted to maintained a diplomatic relation with CHINA, a government actually representing the real China: ROC inherited Qing, and then PRC de facto inherited ROC.  But why didn't Panama turn to PRC earlier?  Besides hidden agenda, it was mostly due to the diplomatic truce across the strait that was based on mutual understanding in the past eight years.  Since last year when that Wonky Cai visited Panama and called herself President of Taiwan(ROC), she has clearly delivered a signal to China's Mainland that she is not a Chinese any more, and her government is no longer representing China, either.  That has left China's Mainland and Panama no choice but to make the decision.

Some idiots said when there are no countries in this world having diplomatic relation with ROC, there will be more countries recognizing Taiwan.  Like I've always said: just let that silly notion bring them cheers.     

P.S. FYI, an interesting piece of palindrome regarding Panama: "A man, a plan, a canal - Panama!"
