It is a unique challenge. I like challenges and coping with them,” she said.Chen was trained as a pilot at the Republic of China Military Academy and was selected to study in the US, where she broke records in swimming and graduated with distinction.Her decision to train as a combat helicopter pilot was motivated by US soldiers’ aspirations to fight on the front lines, she said.Women rarely choose to fly the AH-1W SuperCobra because it involves intense physicality to control the aircraft in an emergency situation when the hydraulic system fails, but she mastered the skill, Chen said.Chen said her next goal is to pilot Apache helicopters, one of the nation’s most advanced combat aircraft.新聞來源：TAIPEI TIMES 針對台、日關係，副總統陳建仁今天(17日)上午在接見日本「維新之會」國會議員訪問團時表示，「日本交流協會」今年初改名為「日本台灣交流協會」，印證雙邊關是朝向正面發展，在此基礎上，台灣在大學出國留學貸款新的一年將繼續推動台日關係，除希望深化實質交流往來、早日簽署「經濟貿易夥伴協定」(EPA)外，也期盼能在海洋事務等議題上，持續保持溝通對話，增進雙方互信。 副總統指出，近年國際局勢變動快速，未來充滿不確定性，台灣位處亞太地區戰略樞紐，期盼能在區域安全及經貿事務上扮演更積極角色，強化台日、台美互動與聯繫，並持續爭取參與ICAO(國際民航組織)及WHO(世界衛生組織)等國際組織及區域經濟整合。 副總統說，政府正積極推動「新南向政策」，期盼與區域內各國進行更多元交流合作，活絡亞太地區動能，政策今年正式進入行動年，我方期盼持續與日本深化產業合作，攜手拓展海外市場，共創互利雙贏。 在交流方面，副總統表示，台日近年在防災、文化、教育、觀光及青少年交流等領域合作密切；去年人員互訪突破600萬人次，其中，日本國會議員共計有41位眾議員及14位參議員，地方首長共計有19位知事、9位副知事來訪，往來相當密切。
