It is a forum based on the recognition that there is close link between peace, security and stability in Asia and in the rest of the world. The key idea of the Conference is based on the priority of the indivisibility of security, joint initiative and mutually beneficial interaction of small and large states. The Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) has kicked off at Navruz Palace in the city of Dushanbe.
the Conference is composed of 27 member states, accounting for 90 percent of the territory and population of Asia. Eight countries and five prominent international institutions – the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the League of Arab States, the International Organization for Migration, the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries – are granted observer status.
