少年不讀愛情詩，

情詩唯美卻不實。

你挑我撿難合眼，

轉眼已過少年時。

成年不讀愛情詞，

情詞怨尤亦想思。

你愛我戀卻分散，

亦使讀者淚如絲。

中年不讀愛情歌，

情歌少樂多饑渴。

你呼我唤似癡癫，

誰願人生多坎坷？

老年不讀愛情賦，

情賦虛幻加綺幕。

你疑我嫌難成全，

獨留蒼山向日暮。

詩詞歌賦四文體，

均極優美如珠璧。

你若不讀無文采！

愛情路上會碰壁！

Don’t Read Love Poetry

When you are a juvenile,

do not read love verses.
They are beautiful but untrue.
While you pick, repick and nitpick,

your juvenile period is through.

When you are an adult,

do not read love lyrics.
They are full of bitter emotions.
Love each other, can’t be together,
readers may be tearfully broken.

When you are middle-aged,

do not read love songs.
They are full of thirsty and hunger.
You call, I call, seems to be insane.
Who’d like his life to be hampered?

When you are old,

do not read love odes.
They are imaginary and illusory.
mutual suspicion and revulsion,

make all sides face the sunset lonely.

Verse, lyric, song and ode,
beautiful and precious as rubies.
Knowing-nothing means illiterate,
you’ll be refused on your love roads.

Select some of their bests,

study their essences and roots.
You will be lustrously literary,

well rewarded on your love routes.
