１９７５年踏入歌壇　發行首張專輯　立即以第一支單曲〔This Will Be〕（流行榜＃６　黑人榜冠軍）成名

並拿到葛萊美新人獎／最佳節奏藍調女歌手　成為樂壇紅星

進入８０年代　娜妲莉事業下滑　且染上藥癮　並曾接上復健中心長達半年治療

１９８５年　娜妲莉復出　發行〔Dangerous〕大碟 

１９８７年６月　高推出〔Everlasting〕專輯　在幾首熱門主打的助勢下　為她拿到８０年代第一張金唱片

前兩支主打〔Jump Start〕〔I Live for Your Love〕皆升到流行榜＃１３　

成為她１０年的首回Top２０熱門曲

並以大碟提名葛萊美最佳節奏藍調女歌手

１９８８年２月　娜妲莉發行第四首主打（第三單曲只在黑人電台主打　所以這也是第三流行主打）〔Pink Cadillac／粉紅凱迪拉克〕

這是美國‘工人皇帝’布魯斯．史賓斯汀１９８４年亞軍暢銷曲〔Dancing in the Dark〕的B面歌曲

１９８１年就寫好　史賓斯汀只用原音樂器試錄　直到１９８４年籌備〔Born in the U.S.A.〕才正試灌錄

１９８２－８３年美國歌手貝蒂蜜勒曾在演唱會選場〔Pink Cadillac〕

並為１９８３年的大碟〔No Frills〕灌錄此曲

可是布魯斯．史賓斯汀卻阻止此事　認為〔Pink Cadillac〕不是‘女孩子的歌曲’

強迫貝蒂只能翻唱他另一首作品　結果蜜勒版最後未能收在〔No Frills〕中

１９８６／８７年間　當娜妲莉．高在籌備〔Everlasting〕專輯時

製作人Dennis Lambert建議她翻唱〔Pink Cadillac〕

高原本認為當時３６／３７歲的她唱這種描述青少年的歌曲已年紀太大

不過她跟Dennis Lambert首次合作　後者的積極跟熱情給其不少自信　

娜妲莉便決定嘗試看看　說不定能唱出自己的味道

高的版本有別於布魯斯．史賓斯汀　走輕快的流行舞曲路線

這回史賓斯汀並沒反對　反而覺得由女生來唱〔Pink Cadillac〕很酷　並且高翻唱得相當出色

在MV中　３８歲的娜妲莉打扮成美國黑人少女周旋在一群青少年間

看來大眾並不在意高唱這類歌曲年紀是否過大

〔Pink Cadillac〕登上美國流行榜＃５　成為她１０年首支Top１０暢銷曲

也平了高在流行榜個人成績最高名次（另一首〔I’ve Got Love on My Mind〕）

另外也為娜妲莉拿到首支舞曲榜冠軍　黑人榜＃９　成人當代榜＃１６

國外市場反應亦佳：英國＃５　這是到當時為止高在英倫成績最高的單曲
