２００３年４月　美國流行天后瑪丹娜（Madonna）推出第九張大碟［American Life／美國生活／夢醒美國］（Maverick／Warner Bros.出版）

由娜姐, Mirwais Ahmadza製作, 另有 Mark “Spike” Stent在兩首歌擔任附加製作

只是樂評好壞兩極，商業表現也不如預期

五度登上美國Billboard專輯榜冠軍, 拿到白金唱片（１００萬張）

英國榜冠軍　白金唱片（３４萬張）（2003年終#52）

法國榜冠軍　白金唱片（５０萬張）（2003年終#14）

德國榜冠軍　白金唱片（２０萬張＋）（2003年終#19）

日本榜＃４　白金唱片（２０萬張＋）

雖然全球賣出四百萬張　名列２００３年IFPI世界最暢銷專輯＃３２, 卻是她當時事業銷售最低的錄音室專輯

同名歌曲［American Life］為專輯首支實質主打（技術上總體第二首）, 只拿下美國Billboard單曲榜＃３７, 為其走紅後首單事業新低

雖然國際較佳（UK#2, Fra#10, Ger#10, Ita #1, Can#1, EURO#2）, 卻不強勢。

２００７年５月, 瑪丹娜推出第二單曲［Hollywood／好萊塢］

由她與Mirwais Ahmadzaï合寫, 以好萊塢為例, 探討美國文化的浮華與貪婪。

並製作成一首民謠搖滾（folk rock）, 合成流行（synth-pop）, 電子民謠（electro-folk）, 電子流行（electropop）與迷幻民謠（psychedelic folk）於一身

編曲簡單, 在中板的節拍中, 瑪丹娜以女孩似的嗓音行雲流水的演繹。

樂評好壞兩極, 雖稱讚其琅琅上口, 卻批評歌詞。

［Hollywood］雖然登上Billboard單曲銷售榜冠軍（2003年終#45）,

但在結合銷售與電台播放的正式單曲榜（Hot 100）卻沒擠入, 成為１９年來娜姐首支未入榜的單曲。

副榜較佳：舞曲播放榜冠軍（2003年終#19）　舞曲混音銷售榜冠軍（六週）（2003年終#6／2004#18）

國際依舊較佳：英國榜亞軍西班牙亞軍, 義大利＃３（2003年終#40）

２００３年８月２７日MTV音樂獎（MTV Video Music Awards）

瑪丹娜與布蘭妮（Britney Spears）, 克莉絲汀·阿奎萊拉（Christina Aguilera）與Missy Elliott表演［Like a Virgin］＆［Hollywood］的混合曲, 娜姐與布蘭妮, 克莉絲汀表演女女接吻, 轟動一時。

２００３年１１月２４日　瑪丹娜發行EP［Remixed & Revisited／神話再現混音迷你專輯］, 收錄２００３年MTV音樂獎表演的［Like a Virgin / Hollywood Medley］混合曲，以及跟Missy Elliott合作的混音［Into the Hollywood Groove" (The Passengerz mix)］

只是這張EP樂評好壞兩極。
