２００２年１０月　５７歲的美國創作歌手卡莉賽門（Carly Simon）發行第１９張錄音室大碟［Christmas Is Almost Here］（Rhino出版）──這也是她首張聖誕專輯。

由賽門與Don Was 共同製作, 翻唱多首流行經典

跟大部份走傳統流行的耶誕大碟不同

［Christmas Is Almost Here／聖誕幾乎已到］還加入爵士, 藍調, 福音, 搖滾等曲風, 頗具特色, 樂評不錯。

只是大碟反應冷淡, 只拿下Billboard副榜──節慶專輯榜（Holiday）＃１４

２００３年, 賽門重新發行［Christmas Is Almost Here］, 並加上兩首新歌──［White Christmas／白色聖誕］(with Burt Bacharach) ［Forgive／原諒］(with Andreas Vollenweider).

其中［White Christmas／白色聖誕］發行為首支單曲（［Forgive］為B面歌曲）

此曲由知名詞曲創作家歐文·柏林（Irving Berlin）譜寫

１９４２年由一代歌王平克勞斯貝（Bing Cropsby）灌錄,三度登上Billboard單曲榜冠軍, 唱成耶誕經典, 成為史上最暢銷聖誕單曲　至今賣出５０００萬張以上。

卡莉版被賽門改編成爵士抒情版的聖誕歌曲。

並有作曲大師Burt Bacharach擔任鋼琴伴奏與合聲,

在緩慢的樂聲中, 卡莉以呢喃似的嗓音輕吟, 慵懶舒緩.
