１９６７年秋天　２５歲半的美國歌壇巨星芭芭拉史翠珊（Barbra Streisand）推出首張聖誕大碟［A Christmas Album］（ Columbia出版）

由Jack Gold製作　Marty Paich ＆Ray Ellis負責編曲與指揮

史翠珊翻唱許多耶誕歌曲經典  樂評出色優異

專輯陸續推出數支宣傳單曲

其中之一為［The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)／聖誕之歌(核桃在壁爐火燄中烘烤)］

這是１９４５年由美國音樂人Bob Wells ＆Mel Tormé創作的聖誕歌曲經典

被許多歌手翻唱過

最著名的是美國黑人歌手／鋼琴家納京高（Nat king Cole, 1919-1965）於１９６１年灌錄的（個人）第四版

芭芭拉版是首傳統流行聖誕抒情曲, 在優美的弦樂聲中, 史翠珊詮釋柔婉, 洋溢著溫馨的節慶氛圍。

［A Christmas Album］只升到Billboard專輯榜＃１０８　是史翠珊事業名次最低的錄音室大碟

但是當年美國最暢銷耶誕專輯, 也登上Billboard年底特別設立的（副榜）聖誕專輯榜

不過由於口碑, 芭芭拉的長青人氣, 加上每年聖誕假期的推波助瀾

［A Christmas Album］持續長賣　１９９９年銷售逾５００萬張　拿到５白金唱片

至今仍持續銷售, 已被視為永恆的聖誕專輯經典
