美國鄉村樂女王［蕾芭麥肯泰］──鄉村抒情／聖誕歌曲──［O Holy Night／聖誕夜］ Oh holy night! １９８７年１１月２７日 ３２歲半的美國鄉村樂女王蕾芭麥肯泰（Reba McEntire）發行第２４張大碟／首張聖誕專輯［Merry Christmas to You／祝你聖誕快樂］（MCA唱片出版） 由她, Jimmy Bowen&Tony Brown共同製作, 樂評中等。 大碟登上Billboard副榜──鄉村專輯榜＃７２ 節日專輯榜＃２０ 至今賣出 ２００萬張＋ 在美取得雙白金唱片 專輯至今推出數首宣傳單曲 １９８７年１２月, 蕾芭推出首支主打［O Holy Night／聖誕夜］ 這是著名的法語聖誕頌歌［Minuit, chrétiens／午夜,聖徒］ １８４３年, 酒商／詩人Placide Cappeau (1808–1877) 應故鄉羅克莫爾小鎮神父要求, 創作這首聖詩慶祝當地教堂重新裝修 歌詞描述耶穌降臨於世的情景 同年底法國作曲家／樂評Adolphe Adam（1803 – 1856）為其譜曲 １８４７年, ［Minuit, chrétiens／午夜,聖徒］在羅克莫爾由歌劇歌手Emily Laurey首度公演 １８５５年, 美國一位論派（Unitarian）牧師John Sullivan Dwight將此師翻成英語 此後傳播更廣 ２０世紀後被許多歌手灌錄成唱片 麥肯泰版是鄉村抒情曲式的聖誕歌曲, 在淡雅的樂聲中, 蕾芭循序漸進將歌曲帶入高潮 ［O Holy Night／聖誕夜］並沒打入Billboard鄉村榜, 但開啟麥肯泰的耶誕歌曲時期, 日後每年有歌曲在年底節慶時節的電台放送。
