１９９４年, 美國非裔性感女歌手茱蒂華特利（Jody Watley）與MCA唱片分道揚鑣, 創設自己的公司Avitone。

１９９５年７月, 華特利推出第四張大碟［Affection／情感］（Avitone／Bellmark Records發行）

由她與Derrick Edmondson共同製作, 這回走的是慢熱, 中板, 爵士味的R&B, 與她先前賴以成名的舞曲暢銷曲不同, 獲得大致好評。

同名歌曲為首支主打, 由Edmondson與茱蒂譜寫, 並製作成一首中板放克／R&B, 在鮮明的節拍中, 茱蒂的嗓音性感嫵媚。

由於沒有大型唱片公司支持, ［Affection］成為華特利首次未打入Billboard單曲榜（榜外的＃１１８）的首支主打, 只拿到Billboard副榜－R&B榜＃２８

由於單曲表現不佳, 連帶［Affection］大碟也未入Billboard專輯榜,  只拿到Billboard副榜－R&B專輯榜＃５９, 以及日本專輯榜＃６９
