１９８０年　英國歌姬達絲蒂．史賓絲菲爾（Dusty Springfield）當時的唱片公司United Artists Records被併入EMI集團下的Liberty唱片。

２０世紀福斯唱片（20th Century Fox Records）接下史賓絲菲爾籌備中的大碟［White Heat］。

當他們取得權利時, ［White Heat］已經完成, ２０世紀福斯唱片轉而賣掉, 由寶麗金（PolyGram）集團拿到發行權。

［White Heat］的發行日期又被延宕半年, １９８２年１２月, 才正式推出, 此時交給寶麗金旗下, 重新活動的Casablanca唱片公司發行

［White Heat］由４３歲的達絲蒂與Howard Steele製作。

這張大碟明顯跟以往作品曲風迥異, 結合新浪潮, 電子合成流行 , 白人靈魂…等

算是她最多元的大碟之一, 樂評大致良好。

首支主打為［Donnez Moi (Give It to Me)／給我］

由Jean-Alain Roussel, Paul Northfield, Luc Plamondon, Christiane Robichaud譜寫

被製作成一首新浪潮／合成流行曲, 旋律悅耳,節奏討好。

只是此時達絲蒂事業處在谷底, 無論大碟或單曲皆無入榜

寶麗金的英國分部甚至拒絕發行

幸好史賓絲菲爾的低潮持續幾年後, 終以跟寵物店男孩（Pet Shop Boys）合作的［What Have I Done to Deserve This?］登上英美單曲榜,　成功東山再起。
