碧佛莉克萊文（Beverley Craven） 是英國著名創作歌手

１９６３年７月, 因為父親在錫蘭工作, 出生於可倫坡

１９６５年回英國, 在古典小提琴家母親鼓勵下, ７歲開始學習鋼琴

學校畢業後曾與靈魂歌手Bobby Womack短暫巡迴

後來在Go West經紀人John Glover簽線下, 與華納唱片簽訂音樂出版合約,

１９８８年與Epic唱片的發展合約

原本克萊文前往洛杉磯與美國音樂人Stewart Levine籌備其首張大碟, 但結果不滿意, 改與英國Paul Samwell-Smith合作, Samwell-Smith後來製作整張大碟

１９９０年７月, 首張專輯［Beverley Craven］發行（Epic出版）　以流行, 藝術流行, 輕柔爵士為主

首支單曲為［Promise Me／答應我］, 由碧佛莉譜寫, 被製作成一首鋼琴流行抒情曲.

旋律優美, 在克萊文的溫和嗓音演繹下, 感性迷人

只是英國大眾反應冷淡, 但在歐陸某些地區成績不錯, 前往巡迴表演。

１９９１年初, 克萊文在英國展開首度巡迴, 反應成功。

１９９１年４月　［Promise Me］重新在英倫發行（加上前面四首主打, 這是專輯第五度單曲發行）

這回在電視的大量曝光下, 終於讓它登上英國單曲榜＃３

連帶大碟［Beverley Craven］拿到英國專輯榜＃３, 最後賣出６０萬張以上, 取得雙白金唱片, 全球賣出１２０萬張

終讓碧佛莉克萊文在歌壇走紅

在１９９２年２月的英國音樂獎（Brit Awards）　［Beverley Craven］提名年度度專輯／最佳英國女歌手

拿最佳新人獎（當時稱British Breakthrough Act）
