１９７１年 美國演藝紅星雪兒（Cher）離開原有的Liberty唱片 與Kapp-MCA唱片簽約

本年９月　２５歲的雪兒發行第七張個人專輯［Cher］

這是她首次沒有讓丈夫Sonny Bono製作大碟

而請Snuff Garrent掌舵

首支單曲［Gypsys, Tramps＆Thieves／吉普賽，流浪者＆賊］登上美國單曲榜后座

成為雪兒首支冠軍曲（百萬金唱片）提名葛萊美流行女歌手

由於單曲成功　專輯改名為［Gypsys, Tramps＆Thieves］　登上專輯榜＃１６　平了她當時個人大碟最高名次

並讓專輯表現一向普通的雪兒首度拿到大碟類的百萬金唱片

國際也反應不錯：在英國　成為她個人第三首Top１０單曲（＃４）

１９７２年１月　雪兒推出第二單曲［The Way Of Love／愛的方式］

此曲改編自法國歌曲［Parlez-moi de lui／告訴我他的事］

由Jacques "Jack" Diéval作曲, Michel Rivgauche作詞

１９６５年美國音樂人Al Stillman改寫英語詞, 英國歌手Kathy Kirby首先灌錄, 但成績不佳。

雪兒版由Snuff Garrett製作成一首流行抒情曲, 在優美的旋律中, 雪兒的演繹相對溫柔感性, 頗獲好評

［The Way Of Love］登上Billboard單曲榜＃７（1962年終#62）　成為其第四首Top１０熱門曲
