１９８３年成立於紐約市的白獅（White Lion）是１９８０年代美國／丹麥著名重金屬樂團

由丹麥籍主唱Mike Tramp 與美國籍吉他手Vito Bratta領軍,一般維持在四名成員

起先跟美國華納體制的Elerktra唱片簽約,但卻因錄音成品成本與問題被解約

１９８５年首張大碟［Fight to Survive］在日本（JVC）與美國出版, 但負責美國發行獨立品牌Grand Slamm Records隨後破產

不過因在日本（金唱片）與歐洲反應不錯

１９８７年, 同屬華納體系的Atlantic唱片提供給他們一紙合約

６月推出第二張大碟［Pride］,      由Michael Wagener製作  獲得出色樂評

首支單曲［Wait］MV於１９８８年初在MTV頻道強力放送

登上Billboard單曲榜＃３　終於讓白獅走紅樂壇

１９８８年, 白獅推出第三單曲［When The Children Cry／當孩童哭泣時］

此曲由Vito Bratta譜寫　被製作成一首原音搖滾抒情曲
