在法國北部成長

１９７０年代與兄弟組成Carré das樂團

１９８５年　麥可單飛　藝名改為Michael Fortunati

１９８６年　３１歲的他夏天發行首支單曲［Give Me Up／放棄我］

由麥可（Pierre Nigro）,Michel Jean Machtergaele, Mario Nigro合寫

是首義大利迪斯可, 歐式舞曲節拍（Eurobeat）強勁

曾在法國單曲榜Top５０停留七星期

此曲收在１９８７年推出的專輯［Give Me Up］中

麥可佛圖納提在日本頗受歡迎　當時東瀛正流行歐洲節拍（Eurobeat）

他有多首歌曲被東洋歌手改唱

其中［Give Me Up］被日本偶像雙人組Babe翻成日語版出道曲　拿下讓日本榜＃８　一舉成名

之後尚有長山洋子　安良城紅／BENI, 中森明菜等人翻唱

直到２００６年才被電玩遊戲［Dance Dance Revolution SuperNova］採用

可見此曲歷久彌新的程度

另外１９８７年英國女子團體芭娜娜拉瑪（Bananarama）的暢銷曲［I Heard A Romour］也大量取樣［Give Me Up］──雖然原作者沒掛名, 不過兩曲倒有不少相似處
