Sense of Language Song-Writing Method

The English-like, or language-like "lyrics" in Jam Hsiao's demos are Hsiaoish, Jam Hsiao's 蕭敬騰 fascinating creation, a combination of English words, nonsense words and pseudo words. Some comments below his demo videos are criticizing his "poor English". This amuses Hsiao's fans like me, a language teacher and a phonology lover. This proves that the articulation and syllables are eligible in English phonology.
Jam Hsiao named this way of song-writing “Sense of Language Song-Writing Method”. Hsiao explained, in GMA TALK 2017 (Golden Melody Awards Talk)，his gibberish was to give the melody some atmosphere, to better convey his mood and feelings and to aid listeners close to the scenario of his imagination. In this method, the shapes and movements of mouth, lips, tongue and teeth are free. Thus, listeners can feel the life in the melody. This helps a song writer to choose better or more appropriate words for certain musical motives or fragments, too. By the way, he was able to demonstrate some melodies in Japanese-like, Korean-like and Tai-like gibberishes. He is really a creative and interesting musician.
Being dyslexic, Jam Hsiao has worked hard to not let this get in the way of his singing. He develops a very good ear for voices, sounds, and music, and even sensitivity to spoken language. He proves that this disability can become a special gift from God. He has shown that he can still be a successful artist. God never shuts one door without opening another. Jam Hsiao’s music is one of the most beautiful music of peace and joy that the world possesses.
